It often grows in pairs, the brown cap hides a thicker stalk, and the boletus can be found in both lowland and mountainous areas. Croatian cuisine is happy to have mushrooms as part of its offer. Vegetarians as well as those who watch their caloric intake also especially love porcini mushrooms. In particular, in 100 g of porcini mushrooms has 25 kcal. As for their composition: water makes up 80 to 90 percent, and the rest consists of proteins, carbohydrates and a small amount of fat. Like other mushrooms, porcini mushrooms contain B vitamins and are rich in minerals, which is the reason why athletes and all those who engage in increased physical activity are recommended to consume them. Mushrooms help them make up for lost minerals.
