ERMS AND CONDITIONS – CREATIVE CONTESTS

 

 

This document outlines the terms and conditions for all Katarina Line Creative Contests, including the Best Photo Contest, Best Video Contest, and Best Story Contest.

 

 

 

1. ELIGIBILITY

 

 

  • The contests are open to all past and present passengers of Katarina Line cruises.
  • Employees of Katarina Line d.o.o., their immediate family members, and affiliated advertising agencies are not eligible to participate.

 

 

 

 

2. GENERAL SUBMISSION GUIDELINES

 

 

  • Participants may submit multiple entries in each contest category.
  • All submissions must be original work created and owned by the participant.
  • Entries must depict the Katarina Line cruise experience, including destinations, activities, vessels, or onboard life.
  • Submissions containing offensive, illegal, or inappropriate content — including violence, hate speech, nudity, or copyright infringement — will be disqualified.

 

 

 

 

3. CONTEST-SPECIFIC GUIDELINES

 

 

 

Photo Contest

 

 

  • Participants are encouraged to submit high-quality photographs (minimum resolution: 1080p).
  • Lower-resolution images may be considered if they demonstrate exceptional artistic or documentary value.

 

 

 

Video Contest

 

 

  • Videos must be original and clearly reflect the Katarina Line experience.
  • Videos must be published on the participant’s own public social media account on one or more supported platforms.
  • The maximum recommended video length is 10 minutes.
  • All videos must comply with platform-specific rules and copyright requirements.

 

 

 

Story Contest

 

 

  • Submissions must be written clearly and coherently.
  • There is no strict word limit; however, stories of up to 1,500 words are recommended to ensure fair evaluation.

 

 

 

 

4. SUBMISSION PROCESS

 

 

 

Photo and Story Contests

 

 

  • Entries must be submitted electronically by email to info@katarina-line.hr.
  • Participants should include their name as they wish it to appear in credits and may optionally include their social media handles.

 

 

 

Video Contest

 

 

To enter the Video Contest, participants must:

 

  • Publish the video on their own public social media account
  • Tag Katarina Line or add Katarina Line as a collaboration on the platform
  • Include the hashtag #KL2026videocontest

  • Apply by email to info@katarina-line.hr, including:

     

    • Full name
    • Full address
    • Direct link to the published video

     

 

 

Videos that are not publicly accessible, not properly tagged, or not submitted by email will not be considered valid entries.

 

 

 

5. DEADLINES

 

 

  • Photo Contest: November 1, 2026, at 23:59 (local time)
  • Video Contest: December 31, 2026, at 23:59 (local time)
  • Story Contest: December 31, 2026, at 23:59 (local time)

 

 

Entries submitted after the respective deadlines may be considered for future contest editions.

 

 

 

6. SELECTION PROCESS

 

 

  • All eligible entries will be reviewed by a Katarina Line jury.
  • Winners will be selected based on creativity, originality, quality, and relevance to the Katarina Line experience.
  • For the Video Contest, audience engagement on social media (including likes, comments, shares, and views) may be taken into consideration; however, the final decision rests solely with Katarina Line.
  • Katarina Line may also recognise an Audience Favourite for the Video Contest based on overall engagement. This recognition does not replace the main prize and is awarded at Katarina Line’s discretion.

 

 

 

 

7. PRIZES

 

 

  • The winner of each contest category (Photo, Video, Story) will receive a complimentary cruise for two on a Katarina Line Traditional Ensuite category vessel, valid for a pre- or post-season departure.
  • Katarina Line reserves the right to determine specific sailing dates and availability.
  • Additional prizes or recognitions may be awarded at Katarina Line’s discretion.

 

 

 

 

8. USE OF SUBMITTED CONTENT

 

 

  • By entering any Creative Contest, participants grant Katarina Line d.o.o. a non-exclusive, royalty-free license to use submitted photos, videos, or stories for promotional purposes.
  • This may include use on websites, social media channels, newsletters, printed materials, and selected partner promotions.
  • Participants retain full ownership of their content and will be credited whenever their work is used.
  • Content not selected as a winner or finalist may still be used for promotional purposes, with appropriate credit.

 

 

 

 

9. COPYRIGHT & INTELLECTUAL PROPERTY

 

 

  • Participants warrant that they are the sole copyright holders of the submitted content.
  • Katarina Line d.o.o. reserves the right to disqualify any entry if copyright ownership is disputed or unclear.

 

 

 

 

10. DISCLAIMER

 

 

  • Katarina Line d.o.o. reserves the right to amend these Terms and Conditions at any time without prior notice.
  • Katarina Line d.o.o. is not responsible for lost, late, incomplete, or misdirected submissions.
  • Participation in any Creative Contest constitutes full acceptance of these Terms and Conditions.
